WNBA Chicago Sky Game

I think the WNBA has pretty much said it all with their slogan!  Yup, that's it...post done!

Oh alright, maybe I can come up with a little more.  But seriously if you are a basketball fan, you need to check out the WNBA because this past Saturday we watched an amazingly intense game played by stellar athletes who...just happen to be female!  In my previous post (check it out here) I mentioned that I thought this game would be good from the rest of my would be good for the rest of my household.  My oldest son, who happens to love basketball snickered just about every time I mentioned this game but when the game had finally ended and we caught our breath, my wide eyed sports addicted seven year old, leaned over and confessed..."Mom, I was WRONG!!  Those girls are GOOD!"
Shoot...score!!!  Another lesson learned! 

The game was an edge of the seat breath holder right down to the last seconds of OVERTIME.  Yes, my husband scoffed that they'd lost after having a 16 point lead and I've done my reading and have seen that many are calling for a "new coach."  But maybe its just me, but if I go out to see a game, I'm THRILLED to watch a nail biter.  I think its more fun that a run away win any day.  
And in addition to the skill on the court, the franchise has really done well to create an overall fun atmosphere.  From the Fly Kids who are essentially Sky cheerleaders who get the crowd going, toss out plenty of giveaways and performs some amazing acrobatics to Sky Guy to the drumline there was no down time during the game.  The atmosphere was fun and very family friendly. 
I would highly recommend it for families, even Bryan was having a good time OR I'm thinking a game would make a really fun Girls Night Out!
