The 31 Day Photo Challenge, Day 5

Thanks to It's Gravy Baby, I am taking part in a 31 Day Photo Challenge in March.  Visit her blog if you'd like to participate too, do one day or all of them, it's up to you.  Check out all my Photo Challenge posts here

Day 5: Your day.
This photo is of my wedding ring.  Well not the ring I got on my actual wedding day, that one was stolen when someone broke into our house a few years ago.  And although I didn't really get to enjoy my wedding day the way I wanted to because...well I was 6 months pregnant, hot and tired.  And there were bumps along the way in planning, our original, beautiful venue was shutdown just months before our wedding leading us to move our reception into the basement of a bar.  But overall, it was totally my day.

Edited to add: We've been married over 7 years! Just realized my original ring was stolen almost 4 years ago so I've had this one longer than the original one.

  2. After my first marriage, which was supposed to be the wedding of my dreams I learned that it's not the wedding but the marriage. My second wedding I wore jeans and a sweater, it was a 10 minute ceremony in the Will County Court House. I went home to nurse a severe hangover and my husband went to the racetrack LOL. So far it's lasted 14 years which is twice as long as the first one.

    Cheers to you and Tom!

  3. I love the channel setting in your ring! How long have you been married? Next month, we'll be celebrating 17 years, amazing how fast it's gone.

  4. Just remember, all of those "bumps" along the way are the pieces to great stories!! :)

  5. I totally agree with Janessa. While we might not recognize it at the time, it's these bumps in the road that make up our personal stories.
