In celebration of its 50th birthday, Pampers is recognizing how much parenting has changed over the years, and is sharing their belief that every baby is a little miracle that deserves to be celebrated, supported and protected, by unveiling its Little Miracle Mission campaign – a program that delivers acts of kindness to miracles and their families while encouraging parents to support others.
The brand recently kicked off the Little Miracle Missions campaign by delivering a giant act of support –donating care packages to Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) across the country. Celebs Joey Lawrence , Ali Larter, Mark Consuelos and LaLa Anthony were on-hand in New York City to personally deliver a care package and thank you basket to Mt. Sinai Hospital and their staff.
YOU can easily participate in the Miracles Missions programs, and support little miracles across the country, by logging on to Pampers Facebook page (Facebook.com/Pampers). Pampers is also asking everyone to pay-it-forward by participating in the first Little Miracle Mission- to congratulate and offer support to an expectant mother with a gift or surprise gesture. Once more than 2,500 people pledge that they have achieved this mission, Pampers will respond by giving baby showers to expectant mothers nationwide just in time for Mother’s Day. Pampers will issue different missions throughout the entire year to celebrate all aspects of parenthood, and with the help of parents, family and friends, they hope to touch the lives of every baby born in the next year.
As part of this campaign, Pampers challenged ME to take $50 to find a way to celebrate, support or protect a new little miracle in my community. I jumped at this chance to help make a small difference in my community. I considered doing something for a local NICU or local ministry. But decided to use this opportunity to bless one family, but I didn't really have anyone in mind. So I reached out to Facebook. I asked if any of my friends knew someone who had recently had a baby and was in need of a little extra help. Almost immediately I got two responses. One was from a family member who had a friend who'd had a baby girl recently. The baby was born a month early. While the baby was doing well, the early arrival of the baby was then followed by the discovery of some very fast growing tumors in her mothers uterus. In less than two months from the birth of her daughter the tumors grew from the size of peas to the size of oranges. After surgery she was informed she had stage 2 cancer. So not only is this healthy baby girl a little miracle all on her own, she brought another miracle to her mother because they fully believe without her birth and necessary follow up appointment, these growths would have gone unnoticed until it was too late.
When I contacted this mother to see if there was anything that would really be of help to her, she told me that while she had been able to take a standard 6 week maternity leave, her job had informed her that they weren't sure they could guarantee they could keep her job open for the additional treatment and recovery time she needed now. She said the one thing that they had planned to purchase upon her return to work was a dresser for her baby girl's clothes and now they weren't sure they'd be able to do that. Armed with the gift card that Pampers had sent to accomplish my mission, I wasnt' sure I could find a dresser within that budget.
But then there was that second reply I got to my Facebook message. An amazing lady who has blessed our family on MANY occasions had jumped up and said that she wanted to help in the mission. So between Pampers, my amazing friend and a little from us, I was able to find this cute little dresser to help out a family who MORE than deserves it.

I personally know many women who just had babies, and some that are about to. I love Pampers diapers, and as that is what diapers I use for my kids I love this cause! If I won, I'd probably purchase some much needed diapers or another necessity someone I know needs. She is due with her 7th child, and money is tight, so I know anything would be a much needed blessing for her.

I’d give this GC to my cousin who is going to have a baby in Oct. He is only 17. When he told us he is going to get married last year. All of my family told him ” Don’t do it !” Yet, he got married and now they are expecting a kid. He is just like a star on 16 and pregnant. I think they could use all the help we could give them.

Oh my gosh what an amazing story!
ReplyDeleteI love to pay-it-forward as my son was/is a miracle and with the help from strangers in the NICU it made my experience a little easier!
My son was born at 28 weeks and weighed 2lbs. 4.5oz and I really didn't have to worry about clothing & diapers while we were in the hospital until I started thinking what am I going to do when we go home? I had newborn clothing and diapers coming out of my ears but no preemie clothing or diapers!
I set out to get a few things so I didn't have to worry about it when I got home. Only to realize that there were not a lot of items for preemies(1999). The NICU my son was in is 1 1/2 hours from where I live and I knew that where I lived I wouldn't be able to find preemie clothes.
I headed down the toy aisle and happened upon the doll clothes. I ended up buying my son a few outfits for dolls. He looked so cute in his little hiking outfit and plastic boots that I was kinda glad they didn't have preemie clothes because they wouldn't have been as cute!
Upon our departure from the hospital some cute ladies came and and offered me a knitted hat that they had made.
I was really touched by the kindness of strangers and thought about how much time, thought, and money went into them knitting these items for our babies. They didn't know who we were but they took their time and money to help brighten our day and keep our sweet babies warm!
I would use the money to get these ladies some knitting supplies so they can continue to give the babies sweet hats!
