Oprah's Lifeclass; Week 1 {linky}

Have you been watching Oprah's new show Oprah's Lifeclass on OWN?  If you haven't kept up, here's what you've been missing.

Lesson One: The False Power of Ego

It was one of her biggest regrets. In a candid hour, Oprah reveals what she now thinks about one of her most talked-about moments. Plus, she offers advice for knowing when your ego is getting the best of you and ways to help set yourself straight.Read my reaction to lesson one here!

Lesson Two: Letting Go of Anger
Oprah looks back on best-selling author Terry McMillan's riveting appearances on The Oprah Show and explores how McMillan's intense rage almost destroyed her. She also examines how anger can stand in the way of the life you were meant to live.

Lesson Three: You Become What You Believe
Oprah talks about the importance of having faith in yourself. She interviews former guests Jim Carrey, J.K. Rowling, Ralph Lauren and others about the nature of our beliefs and how they affect what we can achieve.
Lesson Four: The Truth Will Set You Free
Oprah remembers her controversial 1997 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, which at the time brought Oprah the most hate mail she'd ever received. She also discusses a bedrock belief: Anyone pretending to be something that they're not will never become all that they were meant to be.

Day Five: Joy Rising
A tissue warning should have come with this show.  It was some of the happiest moments in the show but the heart warming stories were enough to bring on the tears.  Myself and three other bloggers watched this episode at Harpo Productions and then were in the audience for the webcast taping.  It was fabulous.  I wasn't sure that the Joy Rising would produce AHA moments but it totally did.  Iyanla Vanzant was inspirational as ever.  How can you NOT love someone who made statements like "Let God be your Suggar Daddy!"  When referring to woman who are looking  for a man to complete them.  When we look to a person to be enough, to fill voids, etc we set ourselves up for disappointment.  (This is something I learned when working through AlAnon.)
