Crash, Splat

"Crash! Splat!" That's the sound of me hitting a wall and pretty much not getting back up all weekend long.  After a week of moving more than I think I ever have in my life, I was expecting the scale to make me a happy camper Saturday morning. Instead, it shot straight through my heart with a one pound GAIN!
I still got ready for my first kickboxing class and pushed harder through that class than I even thought I was capable of.  But then my shins reminded me how hard I'd pushed all week and the weight of my disappointment coupled with the stress of the week bowled me over and left me there all weekend.

This morning I'm fighting hard to suck it up and clean up from my two day pity party and get back on track.  Thankfully, one of the first things I read this morning was a post from a good friend about breaking through plateaus.  This isn't really a plateau, it's been one week since I had a good lose and this week wasn't just a stand still.  But I think the frustration is still the same. I know I worked hard and the results weren't there. It makes it hard to keep plugging away.

What do you do when you feel like you've hit the wall?  I could use any motivation you've got this chilly Monday morning!

  1. There's a VERY good possibility with all the moving you did over the week that you gained muscle and lost fat! I'm right there with you, though. I had a week long pity party. I'm sick of being sick and just eating WHATEVER I want. My Body by Vi shakes get here tomorrow and I refocus. Praying I feel better tomorrow so I can restart my workouts Wed morning.

  3. I'm just starting this again today but I know those plateaus so well. I usually stopped weighing myself too regularly when that happened so that it wouldn't bring me down too much! And I upped the movement and difficulty of whatever I was doing.

    1. I have been a bum this week. So I'll probably be bummed again this week but at least I'll not feel like I wasted my time lol

  4. The frustration felt when you don't see a change on the scale can be a real ego-blow. Have you been keeping track of measurements? If you have, I bet you're noticing a change. Even if you're not, if you FEEL better, then you're making progress. It's all about being healthy and kicking our procrastination to the curb! You're doing an awesome job!
