Better Suncare from Coppertone

The sun has been fairly elusive for us still this season but I know many of you are already in full warm weather swing.  So I thought I'd share with you some great info from Coppertone.  If you haven't already, now is the time to stock up on sunscreen for the season.  As a mom of active boys I have learned that I have to stash some in multiple places so I'm not left unexpectedly unprepared.  You can usually find on (inside a plastic baggie) inside my kids sports bags because I am often in too big of a rush to remember it as we hustle out the door.  And of course there's some in our pool/beach bag.  And one in the car.  The car clearly isn't the ideal situation for sunscreen to stay but in a pinch its better than nothing, just remember to replace it often and be prepared for it to be runny.

• Follow the numbers

  SPF tells you the level of protection a sunscreen provides from sunburn. The higher the SPF, the greater the protection. We recommend using a sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher whenever you'll be outdoors.
  

• Reapply, reapply, reapply

  Slap on another coat of sunscreen as needed — and be sure to reapply after swimming, perspiring, vigorous activity or toweling off.
  

• Select waterproof sunscreens that can keep up with kids

  Because children can spend hours playing in the sun and surf, they have specific suncare needs. Use waterproof sunscreens with SPF 30 or higher, and look for products that are quick and easy to apply to squirmy kids. (Keep babies under six months of age out of the sun and consult a doctor before applying sunscreen.)
