My To Be Read List #TBR 6-13-13

For the record there are actually 60+ books on my 'To Be Read" Shelf on GoodReads.com and that doesn't even include a ton of book that I have bought but not added to the list.  But my Top 8 are current books I took the time to put at the top of my list based on trusted recommendations or love for the author.
What's on your list right now?

Picturing Perfect by Melissa Brown Book Review

If you are a child of the 80s, a fan of John Hughes or simply a hopeless romantic...you'll want to read Picturing Perfect!

Melissa Brown has this way of writing a male lead that truly makes me want to be the one they love.  In this third book in the series of related characters we follow the story of Jason Kelly who is a creative, boy next door type.  I love that he's written with the most amazing thoughtful side without coming off weak or unmasculine.  He really does remind me of the fabulous guys from some of my favorite John Hughes movies, which Brown is also clearly a fan of.  Along side Jason Kelly is the girl who's been in love with him since grade school Hadley.  Hadley is a strong female lead who is very relate-able.  She is just the right amount of confused to make her believable without making us want to smack her.

If you haven't read Bouquet Toss and Champagne Toast, you should absolutely check them out as well but you don't HAVE to before reading Picturing Perfect.  This series develops the story of supporting characters in previous stories instead of building on the same relationship.

I give Picturing Perfect 5 Stars for being the perfect amount of hope and romance without being gag worthy!  You'll swoon, you'll cry (at least I did) and you'll totally giggle!

In The Stillness by Andrea Randall Review No Spoilers

Have you ever wondered about the one that got away?  Do you feel stuck in your life?  You will want to read this great book by Andrea Randall.

In the Stillness is a unique read in the contemporary romance category (at least from what I've found so far).  There is a LOT of emotional ground covered in this one book.  Sometimes I have a hard time reading a book with a lot of 'flashbacks' but Randall does a fabulous job with what is, for a majority of the book, basically a dual story that both reach their peak together.

For me this book was a 5 star read for me because it was well written, with great characters.

Reckless Abandon (November Blue Series #2) by Andrea Randal Review

Following your heart can be scary.  Especially if you've been burned already.  In this second book in the November Blue series, November (Ember) struggles to decide whether to follow her head or her heart.

I LOVED this second book even more than the first.  I thought Andrea Randall did a fabulous job allowing us to love both of the men in Ember's life instead of setting us up to hate one which is often the case in a book featuring a love triangle.  I felt this book had just enough surprises to keep me wondering if I really did know what Ember should do.

November's story isn't done yet but there isn't an official release date for the third book.

I gave Reckless Abandon five stars because I couldn't have asked for more.  It made me swoon and broke my heart and just made me generally unable to put it down.

Ten Days of Perfect (November Blue Series #1) by Andrea Randall Review

Every girl dreams of that life changing love that sweeps you off your feet.  But what happens when a whirlwind romance runs into trouble?

Follow November Blue she meets the man of her dreams who reaches into her soul to find the things inside that she's hidden from everyone else.  Bo seems like everything she wants, but is it the real deal or too good to be true?

I'm so glad that the second book was out before I discovered Ten Days of Perfect because Andrea Randall made me care about every one of the characters in this book and I NEEDED to ready Reckless Abandon to find out what happens.

I gave this book 4 stars mostly because I've already read Reckless Abandon and found it even better...so I have to give myself somewhere to go up from here.
