Thankful Thursday

To start I'm thankful to be reminded it's Thursday, somehow I've been 'off' all week, somehow always thinking it was a daily earlier or later than it really was.

But seriously;

Today I am thankful for a chance to spend a wonderful evening out with friends last night.

I am thankful for a husband who cares enough to insist I go I was trying to convince myself I shouldn't go.

I am thankful for kids I love so dearly that it makes me stop and think about whether I really want to miss anymore time with them.

I am thankful for having just a few dollars to be able to go when things are so tight right now.

I am thankful for the many blessings our Lord continues to give us. Even when we don't always feel blessed.

I am thankful to be able to witness the amazing service that is going on at our church right now as preparations are made to host our annual Thanksgiving dinner for the community and specifically for over 100 naval recruits currently in basic training who are unable to be with their families for the holiday. The dedication of those who work on this is amazing, as is the outpouring of support from the community. And also the thankfulness of those who attend. (Today a letter and donation was received from the mother of one of the recruits that attended last year!!!)

  3. My husband was one of those in the Navy over 40 years ago and he told me he always appreciated the dinners. He was trained in Great Lakes, too. I know your Thanksgiving will be meaningful this year! God bless you.
