Another bathroom post

How many, is too many posts that involve the bathroom for one day?...week?

I just came to the realization that I now have yet another shadow to follow me to the bathroom!  The older two were just finally starting to leave me alone, aside from standing outside the door to yell some pointless question occasionally.  But I'm not sure what I'll do this time around.  When the older ones were little and would cry if I went to the bathroom and closed the door, I simply spent a couple years going to the bathroom with the door open.  But now there is no way to do that since the big boys are 5 and 6 and noisy as can be.  After being asked the following questions I started making sure the door was closed (aside from the occasional need to be tossed a roll of TP):
  • Mom, why are you putting that (a tampon) in your weenie
  • Mom, why does your weenie look like a butt?
Any one have any ideas on how to keep the baby from screaming outside the door without leading to more unwanted questions from the older guys?  The bathroom is NOT big enough to put anything into for him to come in with me. (Seriously it's the smallest bathroom EVER!)

My cousin pointed out a very obvious solution that I would agree with under normal circumstances, to just let him fuss or whatever outside the door.  I wouldn't have issue with it for a quick stop but sometimes it takes me awhile (yeah I know TMI) and sometimes the older boys attempt to stop him from crying and their attempts typically do more harm than good.  IE If left unattended would smother him to death. But over all I AM ok with letting a child cry for a couple minutes when the need arises, as long as I know they are safe while doing so.

**edited, AGAIN**
Thanks to Nancy for making this the blog of the day for sharing my priceless and embarrassing questions. :)

  1. I'm sorry but I laughed about the two questions.. hilarious. I get questions allll the time from my older two.. but so far nothing to compare to that one..

As for a solution to your problem... no clue. Sorry! I just have toys outside my bathroom and inside it too (for when I take showers the baby can play in there and I can close the door.. but you said your bathroom was really small.. so that's no help).

I hope you find something that works! And when you do, pass it on to the rest of us.

  2. Oh my gosh, that made me laugh. I have just enough room to put Luke's walker in our bathroom...he can't actually walk in there, but it contains him long enough for me to get a shower.

  3. oh jeeze...those are 2 of the funniest questions EVER....so hilarious! i dont wanna sound like some mean person, but why not let him cry? you're only in the bathroom for a few minutes, and if its not feasable (spelling?) to have him in there with you, and u cant leave the door open, maybe just give him some toys to play with, and he cries, then so be it? just a suggestion! xoxo MEgan

  4. OMG!!!! That is hilarious! Why does your weenie look like a butt!! Kids are so funny. My two little guys havent noticed that I am "different" yet, and I cant remember what I did when my oldest was little.

  5. i saw your 'edited' part on your post...that makes sense, if the boys try to get him to stop crying and if you're in there for a while, then it wouldnt be good to let him sit there crying lol. hm. this is quite the situation...IDEA! maybe put him in his crib with some toys if you need to be in the bathroom for a while? that way the older boys cant get ahold of him, and you can have some peace in the bathroom :) lol sorry for all the suggestions, jus trying 2 help :) hope u find a solution! love ya xoxo Megan

  6. p.s. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the new layout and header!!!!!!!! :D

  7. This totally takes the cake as the most awesome post I have read all week!
I have no answer, as I have the same problems. It did give a good laugh though!!

  8. Oh my goodness, Kaya has started asking questions about tampons too!But she has such extreme anxiety, I know she's not ready to hear about bleeding from there. So I have skirted around the answer so far. Good luck, though!

  9. I have trouble finding privacy in the bathroom too. There is always a congregation outside the door when I open it up to come out. They ignore me until I either A) go to the bathroom or B) get on the phone. :-)

  10. Love the new look! Great job Amanda!

  11. Sorry but LOL!!!!! and love the site changes you made.

As for the bathroom, I just tell my older ones to leave me alone.. :) I leave the door open and my youngest comes and goes. He'll often play with his toys right there in the doorway.

    Good luck with that!

  12. btw.. i had to make you blog of the day again for this one.. hehehehe

  13. Kids are so funny! What can a person say to a question like that!!! Sheeesh! =D I had a similar situation with my daughter the other day! Kids are way to curious these days, I tell ya!

About a solution....I may have one, I don't know. I was thinking of those little seats that are sometimes in bathroom stalls that contain the baby so the mommy can go potty. I found a similar thing online at: http://www.mommysentials.com/default.htm

  14. OH my goodness kids say the darndest things, my post tonight was about kaila saying some wild things too lol..
