I'll learn, one of these day.

One of these days I'll learn that I need to be very specific with my instructions to my 5 and 6 year old boys.  The boys only have about 4 unmatched socks left in their drawer but when I went to wash some and I couldn't find any.  So I offered a one dollar reward for whoever brought me the most socks from the bedroom.  My dear innocent Johnny, headed straight to the drawer to score the socks in there....luckily his brother told him they wouldn't count from the drawer loud enough for me to hear so I could clarify that they needed to be dirty socks.

For the record, they found 13 socks.

Oh, and don't forget to go check out my very first blog giveaway!!

  1. That's cute. Specific instructions usually help my boys more too. Including the biggest of them all~~My hubby! LOL!

  2. Good timing for this post. We are running low on socks and tonight I found a whole mountain of them under the train table.

  6. There is nothing better than incentives to motivate kids. I do it every chance I get. Funny thing is they will stop at nothing to get it when there is something in it for them. My daughter has spent weeks before looking for something knowing that she was going to get something for it.

    Love and Prayers,

  7. That is so cute! Not a bad idea either, maybe that would work for my little ones. Somehow, the socks end up in the toy box when they are cleaning.

  10. Too cute! My boys are the same way....they complain about not having socks but I find them all stashed around their bedroom! I keep reminding them that I just can't wash them if they don't arrive in the laundry room :-)
