New year, New....?

Ok so it's a new year, but other than the fact that I have to get used to writing 2009 on everything instead of 2008, what has really changed??

I don't think much at all. We took yesteday and cleaned, well 3 rooms at least but we still have 8 times as much stuff as we have room. So I again swear that as soon as it's nice I'm rentig a dumpster and purging...we'll see. I hope we do, I really need to declutter.

There's really not much at all of nutrious value to eat in our house so it isn't the start of a great new eating habit OR my commitment to shopping weekly etc.

Oh well, baby steps, right?

The only thing that is changing, and maybe you've noticed it, I've been working hard to grow this blog into something. Hopefully that will mean a good something. But already I am loving all the comments I'm getting and have been working hard to try and keep up with everyone else and leaving them comments. And hopefully, soon it will mean some good giveaways for my faitful followers. But for now, it means sharing with you any fun things I find on my adventures in cyberspace.

For today I have to share this...sled? Hmmm, not exaclty a sled! How about 'fun looking snow toy.' Yeah, that fits. Anyway, suprisingly we have very little snow left in area, but I'm sure its not the end of it for the season for us. Heck, we usually get snow in April here. But I think I might have to order one of these for the boys. They have never been sledding. I know, I'm a terrible mom! But I don't own boots, warm gloves etc. I spend the winter in a coat and most of the time open backed shoes. And their dad, well he hatest he cold. But I'd really like to get them out and see if they like sledding since this is the first year they actually stayed out in the snow long enough to make it worth the trouble of bundling them up. So check it out and let me know if you get one....

  1. It does look fun. My youngest has never been sledding, and the two older ones have only been like once. Not my favorite thing to do, but something that I should do. so don't feel bad.

  2. No sleds here! I'm in Southern California so we were at the beach yesterday. We took the boys to snow last Christmas and they were not happy about it! Too cold! Too wet!

  3. It looks like your hard work at growing your blog is paying off! Here I am, a new reader!

I've found the social networking part of blogging the most important factor in building readership and, at the same time, the most difficult for me—I simply don't have the time right now to post on my own blog as well as read others and comment on a daily basis.

You're so right about "loving all the comments." They're a blogger's crack, aren't they?!

  4. That looks like it would be super fun in the snow. We don't get snow ever, we live in So Cal closer to the beach than the mountains. I hope you get it and the boys have a wonderful time.

  8. Oh, that Gizmo thingy looks like it might be fun! If we had any hills around here, I'd get one for my Little Princess...but aside from not having hills nearby, I'm also losing faith in Mother Nature - I thought when I moved from Seattle to Pennsylvania I'd see a lot more snow...but they've been getting record-breaking snow out there while we've been stuck with rain... Murphy's Law! :)

  9. Nothing has really changed for me either. I haven't decided yet what change I want to make in 09.

  10. How is it even possible to wear open backed shoes and survive in the winter? You have mad skillz!

  11. In front of the house I grew up is is a freeway on-ramp. As you can imagine, that gave us a great hill in front of our house. We used to take whatever, go to the top of the hill and slide down. We used to think it was great if we could get completely across the street into our yard. Now, of course, I can just think of how dangerous that would be. There is a small hill semi-near here that we could take the children to but we have had so much snow lately, I think there is a small hill in front of our house.
