Celebrities giving back to the kids! Tony, Golden Globe and Emmy award winning star Mary-Louise Parker and MTV’s The Hills star Lo Bosworth are teaming up with Jumpstart’s Read for the Record© campaign. Together, they are reading Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar – the 2009 campaign book. This will be a record-breaking celebration of reading, community service, and fun. Jumpstart’s Read for the Record will kick off on 10/08/09, on NBC's TODAY show in Rockefeller Center with Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, and more.
Participating is easy:

I have to admit there is an...over abundance of books in our house. We're a little overwhelmed lately since we run the full spectrum from board books to Harry Potter. But I know that in our area, it is VERY common for children to not have books at home so I'm doing my part to try and spread the word for this great cause.
