Happy Birthday John John

Where has the time gone? It seems my second born turns six years old today. But it seems like only yesterday when he was so little and was ALWAYS pretending to be something, often a puppy. He has had such an active imagination. He is my snuggly cuddly sweetheart. The one all the ladies at church say they want to take home with them. Of course they don't see his short temper or insane tantrums. But for the most part he really is a sweetie. But he'll use that sweet little smile and the twinkle in his eyes to get what he wants in a heartbeat.
Last weekend I took just him out to lunch for a special birthday treat. We got to sit on the 'high' stools at the bar hieghth counter (cuz there was no little brother to worry about falling) and he got to talk with out be "annoyed by Timmy." But I think his favorite part was that we were able to just be silly. This isn't usually the case because silly times three in public is not an acceptable noise level! But we opened his toy from his meal and shot Captain America's shields all over the place while he giggled away.
So to my sweet John John, who's growing up too quick, I promise to try and carve otu more time like that where you're not lost in the shuffle of your slightly overbearing older brother or the needs of your baby brother!! I love you Johnny and hope you have an amazing birthday!!

  1. Oh, what a sweet post! I totally know what you mean about the ladies at church saying how much they love him. My 3 year old gets the same comments, but boy, do they miss out on his "stinker" side!

You're such a good mom, taking him out to lunch just you and him. Isn't it nice when you can just focus on one?

Thanks for your comment on my blog and for pointing out that the Twitter link doesn't work... I think I got it fixed! I've been wondering if I should add the follower widget on the sidebar, I guess you answered that question! :)
