It's been several years since I have been a stay at home mom. But when I was I always watched The View whenever I could. It was really the only thing I'd watch aside from many mind numbing children's shows.
Recently we got our first DVR, so I'm now able to record The View to watch in the evenings. To add some excitement to that, I've been selected as a brand ambassador, which simply means I will help them spread the word about the show and its guests by sharing MY VIEW about The View.
I was really looking forward to today's episode, as I'd shared the excitement over on twitter with the #theviewmoms hashtag with those who were watching it live.
Have to admit that, as usual, the political talk sailed right over my head because I pay pretty much NO attention to that stuff.
But HAVE to comment on a remark Whoopi (whom I typically really respect and enjoy) made during the discussion about Alec Baldwin. It's reported that he called his 14 year old daughter and told her he was done and he was going to take some pills and be done with it all. Whoopi commented on how that just doesn't sound right considering all Alec has going for him. Whether these allegations are true or not aside, this is the very typical type of comment made about people suffering from severe depression. Depression has nothing to do with whether someone REALLY has something to live for, it's their perception of whether they have anything in their life worth living for! If you know someone suffering from depression, trying to convince them of all the great things in their life is NOT the answer. It sometimes can even cause them to sink deeper into depression because they are aware that they shouldn't feel this way but they don't know how to fix it.
On a lighter note, Madison Delagarza, Juanita from Desperate Housewives was too stinkin cute. And did you know she was Demi Lovato's sister? Loved her.
And the musical guest was, Orianth, who would have been on Michael Jackson's tour. I like her song and my husband LOVED her mad guitar skills.
And last, but certainly not least, take a minute to enter a for a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip (with a friend) to New York to visit the set of The View and sit in the audience for a show
taping! Visit MomCentral to enter here.
I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for ABC Daytime and will receive a tote bag or other The View branded items to facilitate my review.
