Our Story
Welcome to First Time Books, an interactive web site that lets the book’s owner create personalized children's books. Below is our story on how First Time Books was created.
My wife and I were having trouble potty training the youngest of our three daughters, Molly. With 25 years of printing and book binding experience, a light went off in my head one night. I devised a potty training book that represented the characteristics of our family, such as race, gender, hair color and length. My business partner, Chad Kase, and I created and programmed a distinctive, unique and special storybook about Molly and her potty training adventure. Needless to say, after receiving her own potty book, Molly never entered the bathroom without it, and within 2 weeks, I was living in a diaper free home.
Using the technology available in our company, we set out to create a new frontier in children's books. Our goal of our company since that first book was, and continues to this day, is to offer an array of educational products that excites children to read and motivates them to learn. We believe a customized, personalized book or item can have a significant positive impact on a child's development - from potty training and learning their ABC's to reading in general. As our company and product line continues to grow, as more creative ideas begin to develop, our goal of servicing the development of children will never cease. We hope you enjoy what we have to offer and our ideas and products excite you as much as it does us .

For our book, I chose the I Spy book. It was a big hit with all the boys but especially with Bryan and Johnny. For Johnny, age 6, it was great to get him reading the words from the list of thing to 'spy.' And Bryan, age 2, loved looking for the items. The illustrations are cute and the items you're looking for are a good variety of difficulty. The boys also like the fold out pages, as it was something a little bit different! The I Spy book is really interactive and a lot of fun.
And there are several other book to chose from...
In addition to these and few other titles, there are also as personalized journals and family note pads.
