I had hoped to find the hot chocolate that is available but haven't found it in store yet.  So I made some cappuccino and some regular coffee that my boss and husband tested.  The set up was super easy.  My only complaint was that I set it up on my desk at work and listening to the water running the through the machine made me have to pee!!

Then I made a cappuccino...in like 2 minutes.  I didn't think to bring an actual mug with me and the guys at the office all use styrofoam cups so that's all we have.  Except my mug that holds pens which is what I used for the setup.  But that mug was too tall to fit in with the base thing (see last photo) in but not tall enough that it didn't splatter a bit without the base.  The taller styrofoam cup worked fill without splattering anything on my desk.

For the cappuccino you put in the creamer tdisk first.  When you push the top down it pokes a whole into the disk without any mess.

This is what the disk looks like when you take it out.  The manual cautions you to be careful because it will still be hot.  I was more worried about it being messy.  But I took it out right away and it was warm but not unreasonably hot and not at all messy!!

This T20 comes with several different colored inserts to let you match your new machine to your decor.  I like the brown just because it doesn't show any mess if you make it, which is nice with it being on my desk in case I can't get to cleaning it right away.

I really love this machine for my desk at work because it really was super quick and it allows me to easily make a hot fresh drink for people who come in even though I'm clueless when it comes to coffee.  It also does a bunch of tea varieties too, but I don't do tea either.  But I'll be on a hot chocolate hunt just as soon as I'm healed from my recent injury.

The machine does make some noise and vibration which at times is louder than your traditional coffee maker but it makes a regular cup of coffee in well under a minute from the time you turn the machine ON so I think its a pretty fair price to pay.

If you drink many cups a day of a traditional coffee, this may not be the machine for you as the t-disks only make one cup each and average about a dollar a piece.  But if you regularly stop for a fancier coffee, cappuccino, espresso, tea or, like me, a hot chocolate this machine makes sense.  I know when I stop even at McD's for a medium hot chocolate it's almost $3 and it takes longer than a minute of my time too!!

I tried doing a video several times but had very little luck here's the one shot i got that can give you a little idea of what you can expect if you make a cappuccino with your Tassimo T20.

Disclosure: I was provided the Tassimo T20 for free for review purposes. No other compensation was received and all opinions expressed are my own, honest personal feedback

  1. This machine doesn't sound too bad. I'm not a coffee drinker, but every once in awhile I will make a pot, and only have one cup. I work 3rd shift (reason why I am commenting at almost 3am), so having a machine that will only make one at a time sounds pretty good :D I'll keep a look out for the Hot Chocolate for you too :D
