Getting ready for spring!
My oldest son and HUGE sports fan, has out grown his tried and true baseball glove so after getting some confirmation of this fact from the coach at his baseball clinic, I shelled out half and arm for a new one for him.  Of course, that means it's not at all broken in. So we got out the oil and started to try and work the newness out of his new treasured glove.  As long as we were at it, he wanted to work on the glove our neighbor gave his 'baby' brother.  In addition to the rubber bands (there are baseballs inside both gloves) he found the heaviest books we own to set on top of the gloves, but I moved them just long enough to snap this photo.

  1. It must be a bitter-sweet day when a favorite glove becomes too small :)

  3. I love the look of this photo. Our boys are just getting into sports, but we have played a little baseball (softball really) in the backyard. Can't wait for spring and dry ground.

  4. I'm ready for spring too! I'm SO over this weather. I have a little boy on the way and seeing the gloves gets me so excited for when he's older and can play ball with his daddy.

  5. Looks like a couple great gloves. They will get a work out come spring I'm sure.

  6. Hey, we're doing the exact same thing at our house! Went to the sporting goods store on Sunday to pick up a few things and it was a mob scene around the baseball stuff. I've finally gotten smart and let my son pick his own stuff instead of trying to fake him into buying the soccer cleats on sale because cleats are cleats, right? Wrong, apparently. So now I just sit down in the husband chair and watch the packages as they pile up at my feet. Much more relaxing. Until I have to pay. Happy Birthday, son.

  8. Wow, you rock. I honestly can say I would not know what to do with a baseball glove. I lead a non-sports life except for track and cross country :) Great pictures!

  9. I had no idea about the breaking in a glove thing. Might have something to do with the face that I spent most of my softball experience in the outfield doing cartwheels!
