It's Not Just About Looking Better

I won't deny that if feels great to have my weight loss be noticed by others.  It's nice to be complimented and acknowledged.  I look forward to a day when that is just my new normal. But it's really not the reason I am motivated this time to make a change.
The real reasons I am committed to making some life changes are the health risks of being obese.  Things like increased risk of some cancers, blood pressure issues (which I have had borderline for a long time), heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
The good news is, you don't have to be a size 0 to reduce your risk.  Studies show that you a 5-10% loss in body weight can significantly reduce your risk for heart disease.  And I've already hit the 5% mark and creeping close to the 10% goal.  I still have a long way to go to lose the label of obese but I really feel good about the changes I have already made and how that helps my changes of staying healthy so that I can spend many more happy healthy years with my boys.
And I mean really, who wouldn't want to be around for plenty more of THIS....

    1. thankfully I don't have diabetes in the family but I've been overwieght for so long I do worry. And add in the crazy high cancer risk I have, I really need to help myself where I can.
