Taking Photos with Samsung Galxay S III from Verizon #VZWSM

On my recent trip to Chicago we had the most amazing night view of downtown. It was bright and beautiful. But my first attempt at capturing it on my phone was...less than impressive. This is taken through our hotel window, no flash.  It doesn't come close to capturing the breath taking view.

Seriously wanting to capture the view and not having brought my DSLR (because I'm a lazy photog who can't handle carrying a DSLR 12 miles around town while chasing after kids) I decided to see if there might be some setting to help me.  AH, night setting...and beauty captured!  If you blow it up big enough you can see its a little blurry but that's my hand shake. If I used something to stabilize it, it would be even better.
Totally loving my Galaxy S III.

Do you have a phone that takes great photos?  How about a photo editing app that you love? I use Instagram sometimes but I'd love to find a fun app that lets you keep a full frame photo (not making it square).

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Midwest Savvy Moms program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.”

  2. I'm a photographer as well and head-over-heels in love with my Galaxy S-III. :) It definitely my constant companion, even on shoots. I just wish there was a waterproof case. I've been known to drop my iPhone in creeks and rivers while out shooting, but I have a waterproof case for that phone. lol

Great to meet you. I'm a Verizon Wireless Savvy Mom too. Have a great day! :)

  5. Where did you take the shots from? Need to check out that image stabilizer feature mentioned, I am slowly learning how to take better and better pictures with my S3.
