Stay On Top the Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals with RetailMeNot.com #BlackFridayRMN

Are you one of the many who will be doing some serious holiday shopping this Black Friday or Cyber Monday?  I don't plan to do much this year since I'm technically DONE shopping (hey don't hate, I've been working on it since early summer) but I can't help but watch for great deals on stuff we might need.  I might venture out to one store Thursday evening but for the most part I plan to keep my shopping to Cyber Monday.  I am a online shopping addict.  I love finding the best deals while in my comfy chair.  But whether you're braving the crowds or shopping online be sure to check out RetailMeNot.com to make the most of your deals.

Here are some tips for saving big this holiday shopping season:

  • Bookmark the RetailMeNot.com holiday page and check back daily for the lowest prices possible from your favorite retailers.
  • Sign up for the RetailMeNot newsletter and email alerts for you favorite retailers so you don’t miss out on any great coupons and deals.
  • Shopping online? RetailMeNot has an entire tab on its website dedicated to available free shipping offers.
  • Download the RetailMeNot Coupons app for your iPhone or Android to search for in-store coupons.

Below are some findings from a survey conducted by RetailMeNot and The Omnibus Company a division of Kelton Research, on consumer sentiments concerning the holiday shopping season.

  • Consumers expect to spend an average of $171 per person on gifts this holiday season, with 25% spending $1 to $25 per person, 28% spending $26 to $75, 21% spending $76 to $150 and 25% spending $151 or more.
  • Clothing and accessories is the most popular gift category this year (28%), more than consumer electronics such as TVs, video games & console, tablets, e-readers, mobile phones (22%); Toys (18%); and books, movies & music (12%).
  • According to the survey, 68% of consumers plan to do more or about the same amount of online shopping for gifts this holiday season.
  • 86% of working adults who intend to shop online this season plan to spend time shopping for the holidays online during work hours, averaging 3.6 hours in an average work day!

How much do YOU spend per person?  I'm thinking I want to switch to that $1-25 per person category.  I'm sure my kids would be THRILLED!  But honestly, my kids get way too much, but its because I enjoy the shopping way too much.

What category will YOU be buying the most of this year?  We'll have more electronics than anything else, dollar wise under our tree this year for sure!!
