The boys and I watch Cars 2 for the first time this week at home. I have to say I think I appreciated it even more this time than I did in the theater. I think I was a little thrown off by how different it was than the first when we saw it in the theater but this time I was prepared and I enjoyed it much more. The boys of course loved it then and now! It is a fun movie and I know some objected to the references to 'killing' but I'm pretty liberal with that sort of stuff so it doesn't bother me at all and I just appreciate that its a movie with things that speak to the adult humor. The highly anticipated Cars 2, will be hitting theaters this summer and I personally can't wait. Cars was the first movie we took our older boys to in the theater. It is a great movie that I am so glad I saw on the big screen, but the added memory of it being their first and they absolute LOVE for it makes it even more special for me. We still have many Cars around our house including the Lighting McQueen "with buttons" that was the only thing my middle son asked for for Christmas one year!
I know my boys are excited to see Cars 2, but it is quite possible that I am way more excited. We don't go to the theater very often as it's pricey for a family of 5, but there is something about a Disney Pixar movie that has at least one breath taking scene when viewed in full theatrical scale! We'll definitely be planning a trip to see this one in theaters.
