Kmart Playdate Place WrapUp

Being part pf playdates are great for your kids, especially if they are still home full time.  But they are also great for us parents too.  Many of us have more excuses than we can count for why we can't get out for time alone but getting together with other moms, even with the kids can really be rejuvenating. But HOSTING a playdate can be stressful.  As a hostess you need to make sure that the kids are happy and having fun.  

When I began planning our recent playdate using Playdate Place, I strted thinking I was going to go with a Cars theme.  With TONS of Cars toy options and the recent release ofr Car2, I thought it would be a hit.  But then I began to worry about the kids losing the smaller cars in our yard as we planned to be outside since we have a small house.  I looked around the site some more as I reconsidered my options and there really were MANY.  I hadn't ever really considered Kmart as a place to really shop for toys but they do have a great selections online. 
While looking around I spotted the Super Soakers and my boys have been eyeing these up on TV for awhile.  So I decided to go with a general outdoor theme.  This allowed me to chose a wider variety of toys for my larger age range of kids that would be invited. 

I think this video and my 3 year olds evil laugh capture the mood of the entire day, the kids played and the adults relaxed in the shade.  It was a GREAT day.  Thank you so much Kmart Playdate Place!

Planning an Outdoor Playdate with Kmart #PlaydatePlace

I was recently invited to use Kmart Playdate Place to plan a play date at my home. Since we practically live outside and were having out play date during the 4th of July weekend, I KNEW it would be a outdoor play date. So I headed to Kmart.com to begin shopping for the perfect outdoor toys for the kids to play with.
I invited my friends from high school who have kids ranging from 2-12 years old so I tried to get a variety of toys that would entertain such a large age range. It wasn’t easy choosing from over 125 toys in the ‘outdoor’ section alone. But I eventually narrowed it down to the Razor eSpark Electric Scooter for the older kids to check out. The adorable Little Tikes Get Out ‘N’ Grill BACKYARD BARBECUE for the little ones along with the Fisher-Price Grow With Me 3 in 1 Skateboard. And then Super Soakers, Bubbles and Frisbee for all them to enjoy.
I was thrilled with how quickly I received all the items, compared to the projected ship dates. Then the day before the event we put together all out great buys. The scooters and grill required some minor assembly and the electric scooter had to be charged up. The morning of the party we loaded up the cooler with tons of drinks because it was a hot and humid day. But thankfully our yard provides lots of shade. The kids had tons of fun and spent most of the time together soaking each other with the water guns while the parents were able to relax in the shade and chat. Between the great toys from Kmart and a light lunch the kids were happy for hours playing. While the electric scooter was absolutely a hit with the older kids, they also thoroughly enjoyed the simpler toys such as the water guns, frisbee and bubbles. A well planned play date will allow the kids to have a great time while parents have a chance to enjoy each others company as well.
