Sick Day

Oh my gosh, I can't tell you how long it's been since I took a full sick day from work. I almost always either go in and do what I can or go in later after taking something and letting it kick in.
But yesterday I took a semi-sick dad from my mom job. Friday night Johnny got sick...all over, as I mentioned in a previous post but we assumed it was from too much chocolate but nope I don't think so. Because yesterday I woke up feeling like I would likely be doing the same. I handed off Bryan to daddy and went back to sleep until after 10am. I can't tell you the last time I did that either. Then I spent a better portion of the day sleeping on the couch. Timmy at one point said he felt like he was going to throw up but never did. And Bryan was exceptionally crabby all day. It made for a lovely day. Then last night at some ungodly hour I heard the dreaded noise. You know the one, it comes just before a gushing sound and can wake a mom from a sound sleep instantly. Bryan did his best Exorcist imitation. This may sound odd but LUCKILY he did it directly into my wadded up blanket. Yeah it was MY blanket, and I don't LOVE the idea of it being covered in vomit but it made for an easy clean up. I'll save some of the details for my Not Me Monday confessions. At 5:30 he was still awake and crabby as can be, I passed him again to dad and got a bit more sleep. I got him back before 9 so Tom could go to church. When he returned home he declared that he was now calling in sick himself. Ah, gotta love a family that shares EVERYTHING!

  2. THANKS! I HAD to get up and out today so I don't know if it's strictly out of pure necesity or what but I feel much better this afternoon. Somehow I DOUBT the husband will recover as quickly...
But hoping the baby does as the other boys seem fine today. And hopefully it won't go back around, that's the worst.

  4. Oh your poor family!! It always amazes me that I hound them endlessly to share toys, but they share germs so willingly ::sigh:: Get well soon!!
