Yesterday I got to send an email to my oldest teacher about my favorite subject, the bathroom and my children's use of it!
It's a great day in a mother's life when she gets to use the words "stinkin' it up" in an email to one of her children's teachers!! But I think it had to be done...I think. Maybe I over reacted but I hope not.
Yesterday morning Timmy told me that on Monday he had gone into the bathroom in their class during lunch time to do some thinking when one of the other kids opened the door and then announced to the whole class that he was "stinkin' it up." I asked a bunch of follow up questions to learn that he did lock the door but they were still able to open it. The teacher wasn't in the room it was just the aide but he didn't know if he'd said anything to the other student. And basically he was just pretty embarrassed that people had seen him while he was pooping. So I emailed the teacher, mostly to see if she could check the door and how Timmy was locking it, simply because I can't have him too worried to poo in school. We've fought bowel troubles with him not wanting to go for 4 years and I don't want him to revert just because of this. So yeah, I am a completely insane, over protective mom that emails her kids teachers about bathroom issues!!!

LOL the joys of being a parent! I hope the teacher understands and will help you with it!!! I know Kameron would freak out if anyone saw him using the bathroom... he won't even let us be in the bathroom when he's going pee at home!
ReplyDeleteAwww, poor little guy. i hope that it is all ok.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, i dont think you're insane or over protective one bit! honestly if another child EVER did that to my child, I'd be on the PHONE in a heartbeat. those kinds of embarrassing things could possibly really traumatize a child and im glad you spoke up for him because that other little boy needs to be put in his place and told not to do that again! *megan*
ReplyDeleteI don't think you are over protective at all. That could easily make him not want to go to the bathroom at all during school and that wouldn't be good for him. So you were just making sure your son was being taken care of while at school. No harm in that.
ReplyDeleteI probably would have gone to school about that! OMG! Poor guy. I think you did the right thing and I hope there are no more incidents!
ReplyDeletePlease. I'm totally THAT mom. I would've emailed or called, too. Poor Timmy.
ReplyDeleteMy son was like 20 months before he could poop without howling in pain. I would TOTALLY email in your situation!
