Pray for our Youth Mission Team, Day 5

One of my close friends has sent her son on this trip as his first mission experience.  I know that she is crazy worried about him as they don't have cell phones with them etc.  It's a scary thing to send your child off into the uknown like that, and even as an adult it was scary GOING off into the unknown.  But for me it was a great act of faith.  Each year I'd eagerly sign up, with the trip months and months away.  But as the months flipped on the calendar my anxiety would always grow.  When the trip was with in a week or two, I would begin to panic.  I'd often begin a mental list of excuses that I could use to back out of the trip.  But then that faint voice would begin to talk to me.  "Just trust in me."  And that's exactly what I'd have to do.  I'd take my list and I'd get my supplies ready...and the rest I'd simply have to hand over to God.  I would simply have to trust that since I was going with a heart to do his work, that he would be there with me and for me.  And he always was.  Each trip WAS different, and if you're much like me, different can make you nervous and uncomfortable.  But each trip was in its own way amazing.  And God spoke to me and grew me through each of my trips.

Today's Prayer Requests:
  • pray for us to represent Christ well with the Indians
  • pray for good communication & humility

  3. Thanks for visiting my blog & following! I am now following you, too! I will be keeping your missions team in my prayers. When I was younger I used to go on mission trips, as well. One of my favorite places to visit was always Panama, so I think it's very neat that the tag for this request was for Panama!
