PowerMat review and Giveaway CLOSED

Are you a techie household?  If you're like us there are multiple cell phones, video games, cameras and mp3 players that all need to be charged.  I am surely thankful for the fact that these items don't require new batteries but in our house both outlets AND space are very limited.  We live in an OLD house which has a ever useful coal shoot but a ridiculously small number of electrical outlets.  Charging all our "toys" has been a nightmare of tangled cords for awhile now.  But now, thanks to PowerMat, we are in charging heaven.
When Tom originally bought me a PowerMat for mother's day this year, I wasn't really wow'd.  I didn't quite GET it.  Then I realized that once we had an adapter or power cube for each of our items, it made life so much easer.

First of all, we can now charge 3 items on the large PowerMat while taking up just one outlet.  But the best part is that it's so easy to switch items so easily.  The items which have a specific adaptor can simply be set on the Mat.  While iPod are put on a dock which sits on the PowerMat without any cords.
Other items use a Power Cube and one of MANY plug adaptors.

The Home and Office Mat:
The Powermat Portable Mat (perfect for traveling):
The iPod dock:
DSi adaptor:
PowerCube:
Set of adaptors:
I have to say that I don't really understand how this system works but I'm pretty ok with just knowing it DOES!  And it works WELL!  Our phones charge just as quick, maybe even quicker (I've never done a true comparison) but they also hold the charge well which is an issue for me because I'm a LITTLE addicted to my smart phone.  (I really don't know how I lived without it!)  I am telling you the truth when I say I was pretty skeptical but have been pretty blown away with the PowerMat.  I plug in my phone to a power cube and set the cube on one of the magnetic changing units and it lets me know when it makes the connection and is charging. (The larger 3x unit lights up AND makes a sound to let you know, the smaller unit just lights up to indicate its charging.)

Would the Power Mat help organize your electronic life?  You can win a Home and Office Power Mat and three receivers here.

  6. that looks pretty cool! I've always wondered how they work though. We'd use the iPod receiver and probably a mini USB adapter tip, I think, for our phones. LOL
