Now in its sixth year,
Chevy Youth Baseball is a grassroots initiative that establishes a positive
relationship between local dealers and the communities they serve. Chevy
Dealers sponsor their local youth baseball leagues as a part of Chevrolet's
nationwide commitment to support youth sports, one community at a time.
Each sponsored league
can take part in the "Chevy Youth Baseball Double Play Giveaway,"
a league-fundraising program with great prizes, as well as youth clinics
with a local professional baseball team.
The 2012 program will
provide assistance to approximately 350 leagues in the Northeastern region
and Chevrolet dealers will contribute over $600,000 in monetary and equipment
donations.
Chevrolet Youth Baseball
Since 2006, the Chevrolet Youth Baseball program has been committed to helping develop future All-Stars and MVPs across the country. The program involves over 2,000 nationwide Chevrolet dealers assisting communities through equipment donations, baseball clinics and fund-raising support.
So far the program has aided 2.7 million youth baseball players and their families and has raised over $13 million in donations to support our next generation of players.
Through the Diamonds & Dreams program, Chevrolet is able
to take part in supporting baseball on a community level across the
country. Individuals can enter for the chance to win a youth field
makeover for their communities.
In 2011, the program provided various communities with 20 field
makeovers, 60 equipment packages and 20 baseball clinics. Last season,
Chevrolet awarded Prince Fielder, MVP of the All-Star Game, and David
Freese, MVP of the World Series, with field makeovers for Milwaukee and
St. Louis, respectively, through the Diamonds & Dreams program and
through recognition for their MVP performances.
