PrePurchase Men In Black 3 at Walmart #CBias #SeeMIB3

Head out today to pre-order MIB3 at Walmart today and you can be watching it through VUDU.com weeks before anyone else.

It's so easy:
  1. Buy the Men In Black 3 PrePurchase Blu-Ray + DVD Combo Pack today at Walmart.
  2. Redeem the code inside online at VUDU.com.
  3. Watch MIB3 on 11/16/12 on Vudu before it's officially released!

I'm not going to lie. I was a little nervous about this process. I've pre-order movies before and usually you put down a deposit and simply guarantee you will have a copy when you go it to buy it when it's released.  But this was super easy.  The only snag I hit was when the first store I went didn't have it our for sale and when I asked, they told me it wasn't going to be available for at least a week.  But you shouldn't have any problems finding it at your local Walmart.  When I visited a second store I easily found it in the New Releases section.  It felt a little weird paying for a movie that wasn't actually in the box.

But I did just that.  The I took it home and followed the easy steps.

I went online to vudu.com/mib3 and put in the redemption code found in the white area on the left side of the instruction 'disk.'  It took just a minute, literally to set up.  You'll just need an email address and phone number to create your account.  And you will enter your shipping address for the physical shipment of your Blu-Ray/DVD gift pack.

Then you'll either need to create a UltraViolet account, or link your existing account.  I already had a UV account so it literally took a second to link.

That's it, less than two minutes and I'm all set up to watch my digital copy of Men In Black on Vudu.com when it's available on 11/16/12.
And we'll get the physical Blu-Ray and DVD around 11/30/12.

My boys are soo excited to see this movie.  I think it's cool because I remember watching the first one what feels like a really long time ago!!

Back To School Snack Shopping #jingit4edu

For us, back to school also means back to snacking. I'm not really sure how its possible but it seems my kids have had the latest lunch hour in their school every year. This has meant that their teachers allow them to bring in a 'healthy' snack to they can have something late morning to hold them over.

So last week I needed to stock up on some easily portable, classroom friendly, somewhat healthy snacks. And as a total bonus...thanks to Jingit we earned a bunch of bonus Box Tops for Education for our school.

Who’s Jingit? A tech start up company that allows great brands like General Mills to pay you real, instant cash for paying attention to them. Because truly great brands should truly value your time. And with this limited time offer, not only will you earn by finding participating products in store and online, your designated school will receive Bonus Box Tops every time you do!

What this means to me and you is that you can sign on to Jingit online and watch videos to earn money and Box Tops...

Or you can use your Jingit app to complete check ins at your local Walmart to earn cash and Box Tops...

Once you're logged into your Jingit app, select the Check In option while in a Walmart location to view your available options...Not that some will offer different paid values.

But you have to check out the individual opportunities to see which ones are also offering 4 Bonus Box Tops for many of the Check Ins right now.  This one was super easy, just scan the bar code on the Go-Gurt value pack and earn!

We did well in finding some great General Mills snacks for school and earned a ton of Box tops for our school both ON our purchases and by using our Jingit app.

    Start earning today:

    #DipDipHooray Family Game Night Picnic

After a week of running from work to sitter to practices, I'm ready for an easy meal solution.  This Labor Day weekend I headed to Walmart to get some help putting together an easy family game night picnic.  The three day weekend actually left us with an evening without any commitments and since I knew we would have a long busy day on Labor Day, I thought a great Family Game Night at home might be just what we needed to spend time together but also be able to be well rested the next day.

My littlest shopping partner and I picked up Tyson Chicken Nuggets, Heinz Ketchup and Ore Ida French Fries to make a easy dinner that my kids would LOVE and would allow me to join in the Hasbro game night fun!

I did find that the nuggets and fries actually had different prep times and temps but I made some slight modifications and managed to make some yummy stuff all ready at about the same time.  (I know you're wow'd by my expertise in the kitchen.  But with a little work you too can master these fabulous skills.)

I dished it up for our indoor picnic....

But then decided I didn't want the boys eating ketchup on my new rug so they ate with plates on the coffee table...almost picnic style!

They were still pretty happy with it.

But the best part was that this simple, kid approved meal allowed mama the time to get down on the floor and play with the kids.

We broke out our current favorite Hasbro family game Life Zapped Edition.  A fun classic with a hi tech twist.

Pick your car and your peg but interact with your pieces on the iPad.

I sometimes really struggle to find the time to plan something like a family game night, even though we do play games together regularly.  But having something like Tyson and OreIda on hand means I can always have an impromptu family game night indoor picnic whenever we find ourselves with a (very rare) evening with nothing to rush off to.

Be sure to check out the current promotion going on right now at DipToPlay.com where one grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 Hasbro Game Night Grand Prize of top-rated board games and dinnertime favorites from Heinz® Ketchup, Ore-Ida® French Fries, & Tyson® Chicken Nuggets!  They are also giving away 250 Hasbro games.  Check out the official rules and then enter to win!

Learn, Gather, Give With Abbott Champions for Kids #AbbottCFK #CBias

As part of the Abbott Champions for Kids campaign, I have had the chance to learn a little more about the staggering statics of childhood hunger just in my own area. I know that sometimes the need here in our own backyards can seem almost insignificant to those in third world countries.  Many times the children that are affected in your area may not even looked any different to you than your own.  But the issue is real, and IS significant, especially to the child who goes to bed hungry.  You may not be able to solve childhood hunger.  You may not even feel like you can make a real difference at all.  But you would be amazed at the difference one person can make.

Start today by learning about the need in your area.  And then find out if there are already groups that are working to make a difference.  We chose to donate to the Food Pantry at a local church that many of our friends attend.  I was not able to give our donations directly to someone in need but the volunteers at the food pantry are hugely grateful for the support.  Right now is an especially critical time as the need for families using food pantries such as this one is increasing while the donations on a whole are not.

And the volunteers were thrilled to get a donation that isn't typical.  Often times food donated to food pantries is simply stuff that can be bought super cheap or comes out of cabinet because its unwanted.  Is that really the message we want to send to someone in need?  The last thing that someone who is down needs is to feel like we only care enough to give them our rejects.  So in making your donation, yes it does have to be shelf stable but that doesn't mean it can't be nutrition.  Or that it can't be something that someone will actually be able to use.

Consider the needs of yourself and your family the next time you prepare to donate.  Consider calling and finding out what they could actually use.

In shopping for our donations, I scoured the pharmacy section looking for Abbott nutrition products.  I found Zone bars and Ensure, but had to an employee for help finding the PediaSure.  It was in the baby aisle.  How logic!  If only I thought that logically.  But PediaSure is NOT just for babies.  PediaSure is something that our Pediatrician has recommended several times as both of my older boys are slightly underweight despite what seem to me like very healthy appetites.  They taste like milkshakes but are packed with weight adding calories and protein.

Abbott Champions for Kids #AbbottCFK #CBias

As a mom I can't imagine how you can not be sensitive to the needs of kids.  As the mom of a child in our school district, it's hard to ignore the need right at our own back door.  We live in a poor community.  We don't make a lot ourselves but we make ends meet and our children have thankfully never experienced real hunger, but they go to school every day with kids who do.  In checking the website of one of the local food banks in our area their stats indicate that 8% of those served are children 0-5 and 48% are under 18.  That is heartbreaking to me.  I can truly not imagine what it must feel like to be a parent who is simply unable to meet all the needs of your children.

Abbott Champions for Kids campaign is asking you to LEARN, GATHER, GIVE to make a difference for kids!
LEARN about the hunger needs of children in your community by inviting a teacher, social worker, food pantry employee, or homeless shelter volunteer to talk with your
      family, friends, and co-workers.
GATHER your family, friends, and co-workers and ask them to bring nutritious foods like Pediasure®, Pediasure SideKicks®, and ZonePerfect® bars to help children in need.
GIVE the nutritious food to a school, church, food pantry, or non-profit organization in your community. These organizations need snacks and meals for children who do not get enough nutritious food on a daily basis. This food doesn’t just help children have enough to eat – it helps them have happier and healthier futures.

Our family will be shopping this week to gather our own donation for a food pantry at a local church.  We have helped support this pantry but I have honestly never really considered focusing specifically on the hunger needs of children.  Just recently our boys' Cub Scout pack held a food drive for this food pantry.  The pack did this because the pantry has consistently been running low as the need in our community continues to grow daily.

Our Pupppy, Snoopy, Loves Treats #iLoveMyK9 #CBias

I recently went shopping to create a puppy prep kit for our new puppy, Snoopy.  You can view my full blog post about my trip here.

I ended up with some treats, a cute collar and some training bells.  I put it together and we presented it to Snoopy as an early Christmas present!

He was way too excited about his present to sit still for photo for me no matter how much I begged.

He was not at all impressed with the collar, apparently he's not into fashion, or the bells, but I'm still holding onto hope that we can teach him to use them.  But the treats were a HUGE hit!

He immediatley started going nuts just from the smell, before we even opened anything.  The first thing we tried was Milo's Kitchen Chicken Meatballs because they looked almost good enough to eat (myself). Oh my goodness he was in heaven.  He took a minute or two to chew it up (I didn't read until later that I possibly should have broken it up for smaller dogs) and he was going CRAZY for more.  You don't get very many in a bag but for $2something a bag they make a good extra special treat for the puppy on your 'nice' list this Christmas.

Next we tried (and by we I mean I opened the package, gave a treat to Bryan who gave one to the dog to eat) the Pup-Peroni Combo Bites.  These are SUPER soft and Snoopy devoured one in seconds and was back sniffing like crazy for more.

Last we cracked open the tried and true Milk-Bone.  At that point I wondered if he'd think they were so great after the meatballs and soft combo bites but he was just as thrilled with the Milk-Bone treat.  He didn't take really long to crunch the small puppy sized bone up before he was back trying to convince us he deserved more!

For the rest of the night he was sniffing and looking and clearly wanting more treats.  I'd say there were ALL a big hit with Snoopy.  But I think they might have been just as great for Bryan as he was almost equally as excited to give them as Snoopy was to receive them. And, THAT my friends is really what this season is all about, isn't it??

Milk-Bone® Dog Treats Puppy Prep Kit #CBias #iLoveMyK9

This is Snoopy he is a very recent addition to our family.  He is so cute and was in serious need of a home and I couldn't resist.  But man oh man are puppies (he's not quite 5 months old) a lot of work.  And much like a baby they need a ton of stuff for being such small things.  So I was thrilled to get the chance to put together a Puppy Prep Kit.  Snoopy has been in our house for about 2 weeks so we already had some stuff but we still needed a good amount of stuff.
I was honestly surprised by how big Walmart's dog toy selection was.  With tennis balls, squeaky toys and plush toys there is likely something there for every K9 taste.

I was also surprised how many adorable apparel options were available.  I decided not to get anything this trip but some the things were so cute they were hard to resist.

They also have a decent selection of canned and dry foods.  They don't carry the brand that Snoopy was started on though.

But the treat selection...wow!  There is a wide variety of types and brands of treats.

      Including some from Pup-Peroni.

      And Milo's Kitchen.

And the name I think of when I think dog treats...Milk-Bone®

Here's what made it into my cart. I wanted a brush but couldn't find one.

Although the small dog treats had a picture of a Jack Russel, like Snoopy I went with the Puppy treats because they were recommended for dogs under a year old.

And I chose these Pup-Peroni treats because they looked like they'd be the yummiest for a dog.

And these Chicken Meatballs from Milo's Kitchen looked almost good enough to eat.

I also decided to get some house training bells.  When the friend who told us about Snoopy needing a home said Jack Russells are hyper, she wasn't lying.  I'm ok with that as our house is pretty hyper but I didn't realize that it would actually make it hard to tell if he was just being spazzy or if he was trying to let us know it was time to go outside.  We've had a few accidents because I've missed this cue so I thought maybe if we could teach him to use these, that would eliminate some guess work.
And I also picked up a collar but missed taking a close up of it before I put together my kit so you'll just have to wait to see what it looks like when I share my finished product.
