As a blogger, I've gotten to know many other bloggers. Many have become great friends.  But I can tell you that being friends with bloggers, especially foodie bloggers, well it can give you a bit of a complex when it comes to baking.  Seeing the gorgeous and undoubtedly delicious treats that roll out of their kitchens can make a mama feel slightly inadequate.  But I figure you all just have come to terms with our strengths and weaknesses and anything done in the kitchen is unlikely to fall on my list of strengths. So I'll take any shortcut I can and these cookies are no exception.  Prepared in seconds, ready in minutes and gone...well probably even quicker.  They are easy AND delicious.  So easy maybe you might even get lucky enough to have special someone make them for YOU this Mother's Day.....

Enter to win this Pillsbury Prize Pack:
  • A VIP coupon to purchase a package of Pillsbury Ready to Bake! Shape Cookies
  • Cookie Jar
  • Cookie Spatula
  • Oven Mitt
Please note that this prize pack will NOT be received in time for Mother's Day but consider checking out the coupon link to pick up some Ready to Bake Shape Cookies and keep your fingers crossed that your lil ones might get some help baking up these delicious treats for YOU on Mother's Day.

    Cereal Treat Bars, Review and Giveaway {Closed}

If keeping up with your kids’ changing tastes feels like a full-time job, then we’ve got you covered with Cereal Treats Bars, a fully-loaded flavorsome snack! Before sending your child back to school this year, help them get “back to cool” with a fun snack they are sure to love and won’t trade during lunch.

    • Flavor varieties include the ever popular Golden Grahams® (130 calories) and new Lucky Charms® Treats (100 calories), loaded with popular favorites like chocolate and marshmallows.

    • Cereal Treats Bars contain less than 140 calories per bar and are made with wholesome cereal, making them a snack option that you can feel good about giving your kids.

    • TWO Box Tops for Education seals on each box of Cereal Treat Bars, making earning cash for your school doubly cool!
These flavor-packed Cereal Treats Bars are sure to meet the ‘cool factor’ that kids demand. Check out Cereal Treats Bars online for great information and coupons for new products. Also, be sure to visit the Betty Crocker Facebook page and get involved in the conversation. We’d love to hear how your family enjoys Cereal Treats Bars!

Have you tried other cereal treat bars and been seriously disappointed? I have!  I mean the original has never let me down but I've seen a lot of others and tried many and while my kids usually like them well enough to finish off the box, there haven't been any that I have truly enjoyed.  But these are actually surprisingly tasty. I personally prefer the Golden Grahams and could have easily polished off the whole box myself.  But the kids seemed to enjoy both of them based on the speed at which they were consumed. They are definitely more treat than breakfast.  And just think if you get Lucky Charms Treat Bars, you won't find a bowl of marshmallowless cereal left on the table.  Or is that just in MY house?

    Enter to win:
    • One box of Lucky Charms® Cereal Treats Bars
    • One box of Golden Grahams® Cereal Treats Bars
    • Lunch bag
    • Locker whiteboard
    • Colored pencil set

    Pillsbury Sweet Moments Review and Giveaway {Closed}

Have you ever thought, “there aren’t enough moments in the day?” If so, it’s time to escape with Pillsbury® Sweet Moments®. Whether it’s reading a book, relaxing with a glass of wine or something just for you, Pillsbury® Sweet Moments® can help make your moment of the day even sweeter.

These ready-to-eat, bite size brownies are layered with delicious fillings, covered in a cocoa-kissed shell and topped off with a cocoa drizzle.
    • Sweet Moments are now available in two delicious new flavors, each with a combination of rich, luxurious brownie and velvety cheesecake: Caramel Brownie Cheesecake and Raspberry Brownie Cheesecake

    • Find these and additional flavors like Cocoa Fudge Escape and Cocoa Caramel Obsession in your local grocer’s refrigerator aisle
Ready-to-eat Pillsbury® Sweet Moments® give you the indulgence you crave in a bite-size brownie that is chilled to perfection. So go on – indulge in your Sweet Moment today.
Doesn't this look like the perfect cozy night in gift pack?

I'd love to say I used the blanket to cuddle up in while I sipped coffee from the mug and ate Sweet Moments while thoughtfully journalling.  The truth however is that my 3year old claimed the super soft blanket as his own (because the 4 or 5 lovies he has now might all mysteriously disappear on him).  I don't drink coffee even in the pretties of mugs, so my husband claimed that.  And the two of us snuck out Sweet Moments after the kids were in bed and we watched shameful reality TV.  But OMG were they good.  We had the Cocoa Caramel Obsession and they were heavenly.  Seriously, I was super impressed with how yummy these ready to eat treats were.  They come in packages of 12 bite sized treats and I will admit that I had fully intended to devour a bag based on its rather small size.  But after 5 (hush don't judge me or tell me how many calories that was) I couldn't eat another bite.  They were so rich and so good!  I will be kind and not share how many my husband ate.  Not that it matters since his 19 inch waste isn't affected by it anyway!

    Enter to win:

    • 2 VIP coupons for the free purchase of any Pillsbury® Sweet Moments® variety
    • Leather journal
    • Fleece blanket
    • Coffee mug

Box Tops For Education Promotion from Sam's Club Giveaway CLOSED

It seems like just yesterday when the kids came home from school, threw their back-packs on the floor and chanted, “It’s summer!” But as the hustle and bustle of back-to-school quickly approaches, Sam’s Club wants to remind you that it’s never too early to start collecting Box Tops. This year, Sam’s Club and Box Tops for Education can help you prepare for the fall when you shop their back-to-school event.
    • Earn more cash for your local school at Sam’s Club this August with the 6 Box Tops on a Pack promotion.
    • When you purchase participating Box Top items, you can collect even more Box Tops on some of your favorite General Mills brands such as Honey Nut Cheerios, Nature Valley Oats 'N Honey Crunchy Granola Bars, Totino’s Pizza Rolls, and more!
    • Sam’s Club has your favorite back to school items from computers to clothing, and at the best values.
Plan ahead and take advantage of the savings made simple at Sam’s Club. Your wallet - and your local school - will be thanking you! To learn more about the Box Tops for Education Program and how you can help contribute to your school, visit www.boxtops4education.com.

Box Tops for Education is one of my favorite promotions. It makes me feel like I'm doing a little to give back to our school, the kids love being involved and it really is easy.  Many of our favorite products are part of the Box Tops program so we don't have to go out of our way to collect.  But I have to admit I am totally a sucker for the multi box top items.  If something has bonus box tops, I might toss it in may cart even though it wasn't really on my list.  And SIX box tops, that means we're stocking up, usually to the dismay of my husband because I swear we have no storage room in our kitchen.

But if it means Totino's Pizza Rolls for dinner, my kids (and sometimes even their friends) are thrilled to benefit from the deal!!

    Find out more online:

Sam's Club Box Tops Promotion and Giveaway CLOSED

As your family starts to think about the new school year, you may be wondering how you can collect the most Box Tops to help support participating schools in your area.

For an easy solution, head over to your local Sam’s Club from Aug. 11 through Aug. 31 and earn more cash for your school. At the Sam’s Club Back-to-School event, you can get a head start on your collection and find 6 Box Tops on participating General Mills products. With your favorite Box Tops for Education brands at a great value, Sam’s Club is your one-stop destination for all your back-to-school supplies you need to send your kids off to school with confidence!

In addition, Sam’s Club is giving you the opportunity to earn even more Box Tops when you upgrade to a “Plus Membership.” From Aug. 6 – Aug. 8, or while supplies last, visit the Member Services Desk of your local Sam’s Club and upon payment for your Plus Membership, you will receive a certificate for 150 Bonus Box Tops! For more information on how you can take advantage of the Back-to-School event at Sam’s Club, visit www.samsclub.com today!
As a parent and an active member in our school's PTO, I've seen the value of BoxTops and regularly buy products with Box Tops.  Just this week I picked up two boxes of cereal that each had FOUR Box Tops on them.  While it may not seem like much, you'd really be surprised how quickly it can add up.  And even if you only collect enough for $2 each year, just think what that would equal if every family in your school also did that.  At our school that would be nearly $1000 and for our school, which is very low on resources that is a HUGE help.  If you don't have kids or grandkids in school, you can always drop them off at a local school or give them to a friend or neighbor who has school aged kids.  Don't let those Box Tops go unused!

Would a $25 Sam's Card help you finish up your Back To School shopping??  You can win one here!

You may recall me writing about how we were 'hitting the town' last week.  And then I posted that we'd "been had" and here's the full story of our evening.

So after getting ourselves dolled up, helping Bryan adjust to our super sweet sitter (he has VERY little experience with sitters but she is awesome) and being able to have some peace in knowing if all else failed, "Papa" would arrive soon with dinner to help with Bryan, we headed to the city.  We left just less than 2 hours before we were to be there and made it JUST on time.
It was a beautiful place.  I felt like such a grown up, out to dinner, in the city, at a place with valet parking no less.

Then I saw this.  Yup, the whole place just for our dinner!
We were greeted by some lovely ladies from MyBlogSpark, where I received a small gift to help with out expenses in getting there.  And then we were asked to sign a waiver for a video crew they had on site....yeah, ok, I'll sign anything!    This probably should have been my first clue that something was going on besides a simply appreciation dinner...but who was I to question!

We were then seated a lovely table and introduced to a wonderful waiter.  He reviewd our menu for the evening and explained that everything had been previously selected for us, except the main entree.
    Here is our menu:

We started with soup, which I bravely tried but fully expected to hate.  But I LOVED it!!
Ok, Ben Pao, had caught my attention.

    Then the appetizers arrived.
In addition to these, we had the lettuce wraps which I'd also never had but thoroughly enjoyed!!
We pretty much skipped all the sauces but loved everything else.

In addition to some great new food, I enjoyed something else, I'd all but forgotten existed....time alone, with my husband.  We had a great time without any whiney or complaining.  (Well, there was no complaining IN the restuarant, there MAY have been some on the way there.)

And for our main course, Tom picked Sweet and Sour Chicken, which is especially odd since he doesn't eat chicken, like ever, but he usually eats sweet and sour pork when I drag him out for Chinese food.  And he LOVED it.  He MADE me try it, but I'm simply not a sweet and sour kind of girl.

I had my usual fave of Beef and Brocoli.  It was delicious.

    I was stuffed!
But then they brought dessert.  This is the lemon ginger cheesecake.  Normally, I wouldn't order something lemon ginger, but MAN would I have missed out.  It was AMAZING!
And if that weren't enough...Chocolate Spring Rolls.  They were warm and crunchy and DELICIOUS! Don't ask how many I ate, I won't tell!!  Let's just say Tom was too full to save me from myself by eating any of them!

And then, just when I thought I would literally explode, even through my multiple layers of restricting undergarments, they brought us fortune cookies.
For fear of explosion, I didn't open mine....until the camera crew interviewed the people at the table behind us, asking if they'd been fooled.  Hmmmm?? Wait, what did we miss, we wondered.

Then they approached another table and asked if they could film them opening their fortune cookies.
"It's IN the cookie!!" I told Tom, as I began to open mine.
And this is what we found...

So, thanks to Ben Pao and Wanchai Ferry, we were totally punked!

Here's me...being me, wanting to get out of being filmed.

And both of us, yup, we've been Punked! We were totally clueless.

And here is the sneaky team from MyBlogSpark!
Thank you ladies for a very memorable night!

And Tom wasn't as camera shy as I was so maybe he'll be a new commercial from Wanchai Ferry.
For now though, you can check out their current commercial...
Here are the entrees we tried:

And a couple other choices I would love to try...
